Courtney, a native of Dallas, began riding as a child at her aunt's farm
in Flower Mound where she competed on the local show circuit. At the age
of 13, she became a working student at Four M Farm under the guidance of
Mike McCormmick and Tracey Fenney and pursued riding at its highest
levels. She focused her efforts in the Junior Jumpers and enjoyed success
at some of the nations biggest shows including HITS Indio (now HITS
Thermal) and Capital Challenge.
In 2000, Courtney joined the team at McQuay stables as a working student
under the tutelage of Colleen McQuay.
As a junior rider, she had the unique opportunity of riding, training, and
showing a multitude of sales horses in everything from the Children's
hunters to Young Riders and Grand Prixs. She showed and won on horses
such as Better N Better, River Dance, Free Agent, and Osh Kosh.
At the conclusion of her junior years, Courtney became a professional and
was hired full time at McQuay Stables where she learned the horse business
from the inside out. In the following 6 years she trained and showed
horses at every level and also taught clinics, judged local horse shows,
and invested in sale horses.
In December 2007, Courtney and her husband Stefano started Calcagnini
Enterprises which includes Calcagnini Reigning Horses and CSC Farm. Since
inception, they have enjoyed rapid and growing success. They believe in
quality and this is reflceted in every aspect of their business.
